Sweet Pickles

Take a LOT of cucumbers...soak to clean
 Chop Shop!
Can!...Well I wish it was that easy... but it took a lot longer and part of the night, I always start projects SO Late at Night!!! But it was done, and I'm proud to say, they look great!
15 Pints and 1 Quart. That should last us for a while! :)

I ended up using a pre-pack of seasoning for the Sweet Pickles.  You just add a few ingredients and all the directions are on the package. I couldn't find all the ingredients that I needed for the recipes in the Ball Blue Book, so I ended up going this way.  This year, I'm definitely fine with it!

Adult Sand Box

Robert had to move all the tractors from the back part of our shed so we could put down more gravel.  This takes about all day to move them, so when they get moved, they look great! Here are a few pictures of them all in a row, pretty impressive, and so beautiful to see!

Also, I didn't get a picture of it, but imagine your kid playing in a sand box...(sand box and dump truck/tractor) and that was the image of Robert moving the gravel around.  Adult Sand Box! (really adult gravel box) It was really sweet to watch!

Pink Cadillac

My Mary Kay Director (like, my "'Bosses' Boss") Just earned her 3rd (I Think) Pink Cadillac.  Which means that she is in the top 1% of all Mary Kay Beauty Consultants! Amazing! And the Pink Cadillac even cooler to see in person!  Maybe I can get a ride and a pep talk in it. :)

I have been selling Mary Kay this year and really enjoying it!  If you want a party or need some new items, let me know or go to my website www.marykay.com/lindseypenn  Although I'm not on track of getting a new car (yet*) they did just announce that I could earn a Ford Mustang as a car choice!!! That might just make me work harder!

Photo 100!!!

Tonight we are preparing the green beans from our garden (for lunch tomorrow) (crock pot overnight). Such a fun photo and it just so happens to be the 100th in my phone! Enjoy!!

My favorite fair photo!

Beautiful Turkey!

It's Fair Time!!!

And nothing says County Fair like a rabbit with a double chin! I wanted to feed it an elephant ear! But that's not part of the food chain!

My First Trucking Road Trip!

Here we are loaded ready to head out!  No AC in the cab, so it's windows down all the way! (by the way Robert wanted to sleep in the cab until Thursday made him so hot- it drove him to renting a hotel room...Then we had to unhook the trailor and drive to town. HA!)

On Friday night we participated in a "Twilight Tractor Drive" it took you all around the grounds of the show, which was really cool!  Here is an example of how this happens...

Me with Max Armstrong!!! He is a broadcaster for "This week in Agribusiness". It's a TV show we watch that tells us how the markets are doing ad how agriculture is throughout the US.  He has a great voice! He was so pleased to talk with us, and he lead some of the tractor drives!  Fun!

They had a lot of the old equipment showing how they were used "Back in the Day"

And Abe Lincoln...Doesn't it look just like him!  He also drove a car and his license plate said " A Lincoln 1"  So funny! Robert and I did Abe sightings all over the grounds!

Robert thought I was rubbing elbows with too many celebrities by the end of the weekend! So no picture with Abe.

All in all we had a great time! We took the golf cart because it was miles to get around all of it.  What a great purchase!!! Plus it carried our cooler so we stayed well hydrated!  It was VERY HOT and we were excited to get home! What a great first short vacation for the summer!

Peach Pie Filling

I've had the joy of learning how to Can this summer! I have made Strawberry Jelly twice, Zuchinni Relish once, and now Peach Pie Filling.  All have been fun.  Here are some photos from the pie filling experience.  From experience, use ripe or almost ripe peaches, not over ripe peaches. Save those for Jellies and Jams.  Enjoy!
