Applesauce

The best applesauce comes from the most needy of apples.  You normally buy Seconds (the scratch and dent of fruit and other things), and make them into delicious treats.  I made a TON of applesauce!

I just clean, core, cut and boil apples in 1 cup of apple cider and 1 cup of water.  Wait for them to get soft, and blend in a blender! Easy and Amazing!

Although it looks like gravy, it's applesauce!

Old Bay Shrimp Boil:
Can of Old Bay Seasoning (Recipe is on the back)
Shrimp
Potatoes--I used fingerling potatoes in White and Blue
Sausage or Kielbasa
Corn broken in 1/2

And if you know how to use a timer and boil water then you can also make this delicious and fun meal!

Chicago Farmers Market

Recently I visited Chicago to do some research on their farmers market 'Green City Market'
So many wonderful things there that are different then the market that I run...Here are a few!

Crepes

Homemade Noodles made from vegetables from the market.

 BREAD!!! (my favorite part)

Mushroom, and I was totally obsessed about them! I think I went to the booth 3 times and gazed for 30-40 minutes! Then I bought some, and am going to make cream of mushroom soup!

An all herb stand!

The Dumont Museum

When you enter the Dumont Museum you see this VERY LARGE miniature city.  It's breath taking in the way Lyle has re-created the scene.  You see, he likes things to light up and move, and so they do! It's amazing! He has dedicated so much time and effort into making this amazing.  Located in Sigourney, Iowa.  You really need to look at the website to learn more information.

Also housed there is a very large and extensive Oliver Collection.  We sold Lyle one tractor that will help complete a line within the collection.  We can't wait to see it painted!

But here is what he already has!

Here I am standing next to an original Case Eagle.

He also has The largest Roy Rogers collection. Lyle and Helen were friends of Roy and his family, so there are so many memories within the collection too! Really Amazing!
