The Half Century of Progress -- Rantoul, IL

This Giant Flag is well...Giant and Eye Catching!  The Half Century of Progress is a place where Anyone can come and watch hundreds of tractors perform what they are intended to perform.  Disking, Ripping, Picking, Shucking, and a lot of other things take place! You pretty much have to take something to ride on, because this takes place on an old air port, and there is TONS of walking.  Our little golf cart does wonders! It thinks its a Jeep! This is every 2 years, and an extremely enjoyable time! (Even for me) Very informative!

This guy's name is Big Blue! (no joke, it's printed on a GIANT rock!)

Vacation Part 1 - The Cabin

Vacation Part 2 --One Year Engagement!

On 8/9/11 marked our one year anniversary of engagement. We didn't go to all the wineries like we did last year, but we made it back to Sisquit Falls. It was still just as beautiful as before on this day!

I think this is our new Yearly picture!

Wisconsin Vacation Part 3

When you are on vacation and you run out of money, you sometimes have to get a job!

Luckily for us, farming is very versitile! We paired up with some friends from Mason, WI in their 2 day second cut Hay Making! The Galligans own a John Deere store (and even though their green is the wrong color for us...) We had a great time!!!  We got to drive things we normally wouldn't ever drive.  As you'll see I drove a Gator for 2 days hauling ANYTHING! I also drove Robert around on it too when he wasn't on a tractor.
Full or Empty I'd haul the Hay Wagons to John!
Here's his son driving the wagon to the barn from where I parked them.
 Unloading With the other Lindsay
 BIG BALES!!!
Then they let me drive the truck and trailer! (and yes i'm eating ice cream!)
All in all they are great friends and we had a wonderful time!!

Happy Birthday Jack-Jack

Today is our nephew Jack's FIRST Birthday!!! Our lives have ALL changed since you blessed us in this world! We can't wait to see you soon!

Homemade Today...

Homemade Today:

More Pickles, this time Bread and Butter Pickles 6 Pints
Walnut Pesto 3 cups for freezing
Spaghetti and Meatballs FROM SCRATCH!!!

A hot kitchen is left, with just a few dishes to put away, and more deep cleaning tomorrow!

Whew! This makes for a very tired day!

Grandma's Sweet Corn

Today I picked all the Sweet Corn that was ready and about to be overdone.  I freeze it every year using my Grandma Walker's recipe.  This year is a little more heavy on my heart since she passed away, but Robert made it great by helping me with it.  Usually I do all this by myself.
I miss you so much Grandma, this Sweet Corn's for You!
